Life

Why is it sometimes when you think you have it all figured out life throws you a curve ball? Maybe to keep you on your toes, or just to be annoying but that is what has gone on this week. I started hair school this week and absolutely love it! It is so much fun and I love what I am learning, but I no longer have a job and am frantically looking for a new one. So keep me posted if you hear of anything. I am totally flexible and willing to do anything. The only tricky part is that I need my new job to work with my school schedule so we shall see how things go. In other news for the Fuhriman Family, Jeff is absolutely loving his job at Omniture! The good news that is coming from all of this is... At least one of us has a reliable job at the moment! Wish me luck with my job hunt.;

Fired and Hired!

I know all of you out in bloggerland are anxiously awaiting the blog about our recent vacation, but my computer that has all the pics on it isn't cooperating right now so you just need to be patient.  But I did want to give everyone an update about what has been going on in our lives in the past week.  I would say that our lives are generally pretty boring, but in the last 5 day things have been hopping!  I have recently decided to go back to school at night and will be starting a cosmetology program in a couple of weeks.  Jeff just got a new job working with Omniture this past weekend and I was fired and hired by the company I have been working for all in the same day!  The company that I have been working for decided to close down the sales floor, which I had been working with.  So when I showed up to work this morning I got the marvelous news that the company is no more.  A few minutes after I got that news a person came over from a sister company and offered me a job, so I took it.  I am still keeping my eyes open for a job that is a little bit closer to home and pays a bit more, but for today I am going to count my blessings, and be thankful for a job and an extra day of vacation!

Provo Canyon Half Marathon

The day came and went just like that! Two hours and 12 minutes of running later I finished the race and felt like a million bucks! Even though my knees were killing, and I might have a big toenail fall off, it was all worth it. The run was beautiful and time just seemed to fly by. The people watching was even better than the beautiful scenery that surrounded us on all sides. We talked and laughed the whole way and decided that we would like to make this run a yearly tradition. So if anyone would like to run with us next year, just let me know!

Just about to cross the finish line.

The spousal support!
Two ridiculously sweaty runners :)

Happy Anniversary Boo!

It's hard for me to believe that 3 years ago I married my best friend. Since then many things have happened, we have moved a couple of times, graduated from college, bought a house, and started our lives together. I just wanted to give a shout out to the best husband in the world, which happens to be mine. I love you so much, and appreciate everything you do for our family. You are constantly trying to improve yourself on a daily basis to make our life together better and I really love that about you. You are such a hard worker at everything you do whether you are working at school, your job, or our marriage you always put in 110%. You always make me feel like the most beautiful person in the world and are so patient with me! Thank you for all you do. I love you!!!!!!

Provo Canyon Half Marathon!

That's right folks!  You read it right, I am running a half marathon on August 9th?  What is wrong with you I know some of you are asking right now.  But to be completely honest I think running is completely addictive.  I absolutely love it.  Once I have about 4 miles under my belt I feel almost as if I could run forever.  Another thing I have been completely into is Bikram Yoga.  For those of you who don't know what this is it is a 90 minute yoga class in a room that is anywhere between 105 - 112 degrees with 40% humidity.  You basically sweat your guts out for the entire 90 minutes.  What is so great about this?  I love the sense of accomplishment I have when I have finished the class completing all 26 poses both times with little or no nausea.  I think the next class I go to I am going to take before and after pics so you can all see the MAJOR amount of sweat loss during the class.  It is so AWESOME!   If anyone out there reading this post is interested in attending class with me let me know and we will go.  Can't wait to hear from you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CHANGES

Well I know that it's been quite a while since my last post. Quite a few things have changed. I started working again, so my status of stay at home mother of zero is null and void. I have chopped off my hair ( about 10 inches of it to be exact), and last but not least I have made a resolution to keep my house nice and tidy. What does this mean for my readers? Well this means that instead of spending all of my days on the computer reading blogs and writing my own, I have actually been out in the real world earning a living. Also I spent the entire day yesterday spring cleaning you can call it, so that means no exciting Memorial Day pics in this post and no pics of my new haircut. But I vow to all of the readers out there new pictures are coming soon. I just need to find something exciting to take pictures of and then they will be posted. So stay patient with me while I get back into the swing of blogging again. I am sure we will find something exciting to do this summer and take a couple pictures.

There is a new company called Revolution Money Exchange who's out to give Paypal a run for their money. They are offering $25 to everybody who signs up for an account before May 15th, and signing up is FREE! I've done my homework on this and it's legit, but you don't have to take my word for it you can learn more by reading this:

I signed myself up today and am transferring the money into my bank account. It will take a couple of days to get my bank account verified, but it is no big deal. And if you sign up through the link on my blog I'll make $10 bucks. Then you can put the link on your blog and make $10 bucks and we'll all be rolling in the dough. I'm a Chef at Heart!

Some of you out there know that one day I would like to be the kind of cook that people rave about. All of you know people like that who can cook anything and have it taste delicious. So lately I have been really into watching the food network, and reading cooking blogs to try to hone in on my cooking skills. Last night I decided that I would make a nice meal for my hard working husband. So I decided to make a hearty chicken & rice soup and biscuits which turned out to be the perfect meal since it has been freezing lately. To my surprise the soup turned out delicious and it was really easy! My biscuits also turned out great which was kind of weird because I have never made them before. So since the soup was so great I decided to post the recipe so all of you can try it one day! By the way I got this recipe from the pioneer woman's blog and made a couple of changes.

Hearty Chicken & Rice Soup
2 chicken breasts
8-10 chicken bouillon cubes
4 Tbs butter
4 Tbs flour
1 yellow onion
2 carrots
1 green pepper
2 celery stalks
1 cup white rice

Cook 1 cup white rice in a pot with 2 cups of water, a little salt & a drop of olive oil (you can also just cook your rice in a rice cooker if you would like). Cover 2 chicken breasts with 2 quarts of water. Add 8 to 10 bouillon cubes. Bring to a boil & cook over medium heat until chicken is done (about 20 minutes). Remove chicken and cool. Once chicken is cooled shred it. Dice up the onion, green pepper, and celery. Grate both carrots. Melt 4 Tbs butter in a skillet and add 4Tbs flour to make a roux, cook for about 2 minutes. Add the roux to the pot of chicken broth and stir. Saute veggies in butter till softened. Add chicken to the mixture and salt it to taste. Add this veggie and chicken mixture to the broth, dump in the rice and stir. Heat up the final mixture and enjoy!

This soup is also really yummy if you add a couple of drops of Tabasco sauce to your bowl.

March Maddness!

I want to apologize to all the people out there who check blogs daily. I knew it had been awhile since the last time I posted, but I didn't realize that the last time I posted was in February and we are almost in April. PATHETIC! Well I am here to say that I will not let this happen again. So here is a run down of the Fuhriman Family's month of March. We had a fun month. We were able to go to Market Street Grill with our friends the Menke's and the Bull's. We had such a great time and I got to eat crab, my favorite!

We also celebrated Easter. On the Friday before Easter we went to Jeff's mom's to color Easter eggs. This was loads of fun! Unfortunately the only picture I got was with Belle. If you look closely you can see that her fashion sense is becoming very similar to mine! We both were wearing dresses over dark denim jeans. It was so cute that we were twinners!

Last but not least this month we had an Easter Brunch with our friends the Monfredi's and the Menke's. It was so much fun! First reason why is because people came over to our house to hang out. Second, I hosted a little Easter egg hunt for the little girls! It was so much fun and they were so cute running around trying to find the eggs. Third, I had the most delicious food! We had waffles, eggs, sausage, this buttery sugary muffins, and scrumtious fruit.

My Ohana

Since my last post was about things I heart I thought I would post some pics of people I really heart! For those of you who are out there wondering if you made my picture post the answer is probably not, considering I have decided to post pics of my ohana. (For those of you out there in blogger land who aren't Hawaiian or haven't seen Lilo and Stich Ohana means FAMILY)

This is my family Dad, Mom, Brother, Me, and my Hubby!

This is my bro, Jeff, me, my grandma, my great aut, my great uncle, and my grandpa
Last but not least the two of us!
